Art Deco Boch Frères Keramis Vase Lamp, Iznik Style, Pierre Frey Lampshade

About the Item

Introducing Marmara, a one-of-a-kind lamp masterfully crafted from an antique Art Deco ceramic cloisonné vase, designed by Raymond Chevallier in the "Persian" or Ottoman (Iznik) style, produced at Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, Belgium during the Art Deco era. Boch Frères studio, under the guidance of Chevallier's successor, Charles Catteau, is renowned for its vibrant ceramics of the early 20th century, drawing inspiration from Cubism, Japonisme, and nature. This lamp's base, adorned with the company's decor number D 69, showcases intricate Iznik patterns of floral medallions, foliage, and palmette motifs, signifying its creation before 1920. A maximalist’s dream, we’ve paired it with a custom contemporary lampshade with a platinum inner lining, crafted from an exclusive Pierre Frey Paris fabric. This fabric, named Tabriz, flaunts a saz-style motif from the 16th-century Ottoman Empire, reimagined as a brocade with metallic-like weft threads. Truly a statement piece! Height: 72 cm (28.3 in) with lampshade Diameter: 32 cm (12.6 in) with lampshade E27 fitting; we can adapt the plug depending on the country you will use it in.
