19th Century "Peace, Friendship, Trade" Treaty Knife
About the Item
Treaty knife we assume accompanied or took the place of a Peace Medal. Blade from a US Cavalry sabre, elk bone handle. Guard stylized arrowhead. Handle is etched with Peace Medal symbols "hands of friendship, tomahawk and peace pipe." On the other side is noted "Peace, Friendship, Trade."
