Sterling Silver Hurricane Candlesticks
About the Item
Pair of sterling silver hurricane candlesticks being offered for sale. This pair of silver candlesticks are designed in the federalist style with their paneled body and octangular base. No etching or
any other decorative motif; in keeping with the federalist look. During WWII most luxury items were toned down in keeping with the times. The concept of less-is-more took on a whole new dimension and it was reflected in the style and decor of that period. These candlesticks have original hurricane glass that fit perfectly into the bobeche. They can be used with or without the glass; easy to remove and easy to replace. The hurricane glass liners adds a whole layer of elegance that normal candleholders cannot mimic. These can be left out in your server or dining room table as decorative candleholders even when you’re not using them.
