Giant Champagne Bottle Decanter with Sterling Silver Top, Hallmarked, 1892

About the Item

Extraordinary oversize decanter in the shape of a giant champagne bottle. It has a capacity of just under 6 liters (that’s more than 7 bottles of wine!). The sterling silver neck and hinged stopper of the decanter is in the shape of a champagne cork and has hallmarks for the year 1892 and British makers marks for Hukin and Heath. There is also a retailers mark for Thornhill of bond street, London. Dimensions: Height 20⅞ inches/53 cm x base diameter 6¼ inches/16 cm. Bentleys are Members of LAPADA, the London and Provincial Antique Dealers Association.
