Paris porcelain coffee can & saucer, c. 1810.
About the Item
A fine Paris porcelain coffee can and saucer, possibly Dihl Et Guerhard, c. 1810. The coffee can, hand painted in the style of Gerard van Spaendonck, with panels of flowering plants, within gilt arched panels, divided by gilt and sepia architectural motif, on a brown ground. Having a gilt interior to the can, and gilt ‘C’ scroll handle.
The saucer, similarly decorated.
Incised ‘N’ to the underside of the saucer.
Height of coffee can – 6.3 cm, 2 1/2”
Diameter of saucer – 13.5 cm, 5 3/8”.
Condition – Typical minor wear to the gilding in the well of the saucer.
