Mary Rich Islamic Influence Gold Lustre Patterned Porcelain Studio Pottery Bowl
About the Item
A stylish studio pottery porcelain miniature teapot with Islamic influence design in rich gilding on a green coloured ground by renowned potter Mary Rich (b.1940) and dating from the 20th Century. The small barrel shaped teapot has a short raised pouring spout with two loops to the shoulder fitted with a woven cane loop handle. A small round cover with a raised finial sits within a narrow recess to the top of the teapot. The body of the teapot is decorated with a cross hatched patten with gilded lines on a pale light green ground and the teapot has an impressed seal mark to the lower edge below the handle. The teapot measures 16cm to the top of the handle and dimensions provided are the teapot body only.
Provenance: acquired by a collector from the Peter Dingley Gallery in Stratford on Avon with gallery label to the base.
