Amanda Brier Leach Pottery Porcelain Lidded Box with Stylized Leaf Patterning
About the Item
A fine and well crafted Leach Pottery studio pottery porcelain lidded pot decorated with stylized leaf and berry patterning by accomplished potter Amanda Brier and dating from the early 21st century.
Amanda studied Studio Ceramics at Falmouth University graduating in 2000 following which she joined the Leach Pottery.
This very stylish lidded pot is a wonderful example and in its style and decoration shows very strong influences from David Leach and in particular his foxglove pattern. The pot is of squat rounded form standing on a narrow round unglazed foot with a glazed recessed base. The pot has a domed cover which rests neatly on a raised edge rim to the base. The cover of the lid is hand decorated with abstract leaf and berry patterns in brown and red glazes with a natural satin white glazed finish to the pot with the inside edges left unglazed. The pot has an impressed Leach Pottery mark applied to the base along with a personal potters mark.
