Mari Simmulson, Plate Flower Motif
About the Item
Product Description:
This item has been designed by Mari Simmulson for Upsala Ekeby. Before moving to Upsala Ekeby, Mari worked for Arabia and Gustavsberg respectively. In between the two different employers she studied sculpture in Munich but had to leave the country and her family behind due to the outbreak of the second world war. Her work has a more mature feel to it than the work of other designers of her time. Whereas her work is not less imaginative than Lisa Larson's, it radiates more strength and less softness.
The plate has been series-produced and is not unique, there are not a lot on the market these days. The flower on the plate suggests the plate is perfect for serving your favourite vegatarian dish to share.
Product Condition:
There is a small chip in the glazing on one of the relief-lines. On the edges of the back of the plate there is some surface-wear in the form of scratches. A thorough cleansing of the plate would be good as there is some candle wax on the plate.
Weight: 1120 gram.
