Antique Staffordshire Porcelain Lilac Sprig Decorated Jug
About the Item
A very fine antique English Staffordshire porcelain jug decorated with lilac sprigged floral designs and dating from around 1830. The jug is finely made in white porcelain and is of rounded shape standing on a narrow round pedestal shaped foot and with a pinched neck and wide round opening with flared neck and large raised pouring spout. A molded and raised loop handle is applied to the side. The jug is molded with panels scroll decoration with the panels each applied with finely detailed lilac floral sprigs with further sprigs applied around the neck. The jug is not marked.
Provenance: acquired in the British Art Market.
