About the Item
A Majolica glazed French faïence barbotine asparagus plate, Orchies, circa 1880.
In the style of Louis XV with dimensional mold work and unusual glazing in pink, green and aubergine. Three sections with overlapping asparagus shown in the centre, a scalloped shell form rim and a deep well for a dipping sauce. Heavy weight with a footed verso. Marked with an impressed mold number. Gorgeous color!

Excellent antique condition, light craquelure and a tight, short line to the rim.
