About the Item
Pair of Staffordshire pottery figures, probably Enoch Wood factory, circa 1820. The figures very well modelled as ‘Jobson and Nell’. The seated cobbler repairing a shoe, with a dog beneath his stool. Whilst his wife Nell, pours drink into a cup, from a large jug, and has a cat beneath her stool. Both figures set upon square bases, and decorated in vibrant enamels, beneath a pearlware glaze.
Impressed numbers ‘34’, and ‘27’ to the bases.
Size: Height 17 cm, 6 5/8”.
Width 8 cm, 3 1/8”.
Depth 7.7 cm, 3”.
Condition: Typical minor wear to the enamel. No damage. No restoration.
