Large-Scale Glazed Stoneware Vessel by Contemporary Ceramist Ebitenyefa Baralaye
About the Item
Large-scale, hand-formed stoneware double-handled vessel (or jug) from the studio of contemporary ceramicist Ebitenyefa Baralaye.
This massively sized decorative jug stands 31" inches in height and measures 14" inches in diameter. The surface is drenched in a mottled-beige/tan glaze with cloudy black runs descending from the shoulder, an opaque black on the base, and a deeply corded texture throughout. Two ornamental strapwork handles adorn the upper portion of the ovoid-shaped vessel, which feature a distinctive inscription stating: "There Must Be A Place", which is also the title of the piece.
