Art Nouveau Tile Panel Villeroy & Boch Mettlach C 1905
About the Item
A set of five beautiful art nouveau wall tiles in a wooden frame.
Each individual tile is approximately 6" square.
The factory that made these tiles is: "Villeroy & Boch, Mettlach", founded in 1852 and is still a mayor player in the production of tiles.
The tiles are pressed into a mold with plastic clay which allows the decoration of fish and floral motifs to be embossed. After drying and applying the different glaze colors, the tile was fired in the over.
these tiles are originally a building material and have been in a tiling of a residential house before. I have cleaned the tiles and had them framed. The tile have some glaze damage evident in the images of the individual tiles.
