About the Item
Elegant Showa period Japanese Seido Bronze vase. Engraved signature at the bottom.
Nakajima Yasumi, also known as Yasumi II, learned traditional metal techniques from his family that had been working with a particularly intensely coloured bronze (seido) for three generations in Osaka. He has however perfected his own particular modern style that brought him international fame and respect. His work has been exhibited at the Nitten, as well as the Shin-Bunten and Hoshukuten exhibitions.
