Japanese Contemporary Red White Porcelain Vase by Master Artist, 3
About the Item
Japanese contemporary hand-painted Imari porcelain vase, the work of acclaimed award-winning master porcelain artist from Imari-Arita region in Japan. This stunning vase features a traditional Arita arabesque pattern in deep red. To this, the artist has added a blue cord borrowed from the Nabeshima porcelain tradition – an element symbolizing order, authority and restraint. Though the Arita and Nabeshima kilns were separated by a distance of no more than a half a dozen miles, the former was driven by the tastes of the popular and export markets while the latter faithfully reflected the culture and tastes of its samurai patrons.
This attractive porcelain vase comes in a custom-made wooden box signed by the artist.
