Fine Art Japanese Vase by Fuji Shumei - Mountain Landscape Relief
About the Item
The Arita landscape is depicted in this work, as Mr. Aki Fujii imagined in his mind. It has a scene of Mountains in relief. The pot is 39cm high and 32cm in diameter or 15.35 inches high and 12.60 inches in diameter, and it is a true masterpiece of Japanese pottery.
Mr. Aki Fujii has won numerous awards, including the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition and the Kyushu Yamaguchi Ceramics Exhibition Minister of Education Award. He comes from a family lineage involved in pottery for generations and has been working on various techniques, including the “cotton thread technique”. He takes one to two days to draw a mountain on one vessel using his unique “tree leaf technique”.
This pot is a product of the Fujii family's pottery tradition, and it is a true work of art that captures the essence of Japanese pottery. This is an excellent opportunity to own a piece of Japanese history and culture. Don't miss out on the chance to add this stunning pot to your collection!
Fujii Mr. Aki Fujii's specialty is the technique of drawing a mountain by simulating the veins of a leaf, called the “leaf technique”, as if it were a complex tree branch.
When young leaves such as magnolia are pressed against unglazed pottery like Japanese paper dyeing and bleeding Kuresu, the veins of the leaves emerge as dark lines, and the mountains are drawn by arranging them. This technique is used to capture the characteristics of the season, and the Arita landscape itself, which I imagined in my mind, is depicted in the work.
Mr. Akiaki Fujii has won many prizes including the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition and the Kyushu Yamaguchi Ceramics Exhibition Minister of Education Award.
