About the Item
An elegant bronze vase by Evan Jensen, 1930s. Denmark. The vase is marked and numbered in the bottom. Removable cylinder. It is not so much a vase as a noble decorative Design object of very high quality from the heavy bronze and the quality of manufacture.
Very nice shaping. The model is illustrated in an exhibition catalogue of Evan Jensen of the World´s Fair in New York 1939.
Evan Jensen ( 1888-1978) was a Danish sculptor and designer. Among other things, his work was shown at the Barcelona International Exposition 1929 and the exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne in Paris 1937.
At both exhibitions he won a Grand Prix for his designs. This object in its special design is hard to find on the international Art and Design market. Probably it is a custom made piece.
