About the Item
19th century pair of German polychrome porcelain vases
Measurements: cm H 86,5 x W 35 x D 31; base cm 31 x 31

This delightful pair of beautiful vases was made in the nineteenth century in Germany. Entirely in porcelain, the vases are finely worked with floral reliefs and painted in polychrome. They consist of a double body supported on a concave cylindrical element that rests on a quadrangular base with volute feet, mixed edges and decorative elements that reflect the rocaille fashion. On the top right and left of the central body are placed two pairs of polychrome porcelain sculptures depicting putti seated with a bouquet of flowers in hand. Each vase is equipped with a lid with a moved base and crowned by a triumph of polychrome porcelain flowers.
The iconographic program of each vase is different from each other and finely painted with scenes of bourgeois life in the open, of eighteenth-century taste, and still lies of flowers. The scenes are inspired by works by the French painter Nicolas Lancret (Paris, 22 January 1690 - Paris, 14 September 1743) and are framed by a rich composition of flowers in low relief, also painted in polychrome. Similarly, the bases present three-dimensional ornaments with flowers and illustrated scenes.
The pair of vases is very elegant and decorative. The vases can be displayed in pairs or individually, on columns, consoles and drawers and are suitable for any type of furniture, antique or modern.
In good state of conservation, some small breakages and deficiencies are reported.
There are numerous photographs of the vases in their entirety and in all details.
