Art Nouveau Cameo Vase by Émile Gallé

About the Item

A cameo glass waterlillies and dragonfly vase, of gourd-shaped form, overlaid and acid-etched with a pond landscape scene in tones of amber, signed 'Gallé' in cameo. The glass is warm and glows in the light. Émile Gallé was a French artist and designer who worked in glass, and is considered to be one of the major innovators in the French Art Nouveau movement.
