About the Item
Bronze by Max Le Verrier that makes a great key holder/vide-poche.
The fish symbols are absolutely beautiful, they represent the zodiac sign of those born 21 February - 20 March as is indicated on the bottom of this charming decorative object.
One of a series of bronze dishes sculpted and cast by Max Le Verrier, this example inspired by ancient Greek coinage. Le Verrier opened his own studio in 1919 and won a medal at the famed 1925 Exposition in Paris that gave "Art Deco" its name. Later, he established a foundry that cast bronze sculptures for Pierre Le Faguays and Marcel Bourain, among others. Although Le Verrier experimented with other alloys, he continued to create pieces in bronze as well.
