About the Item
Fully plastic representation of the Madonna in alabaster with finely carved detailing of the drapery of the robe and the hair. Partially damaged and traces of old restoration.
Provenance: The statue comes from the estate of a large noble family in southern Belgium, to which it had belonged for generations. (Horta, lot 173, 26 & 27 February 2018).
