Late 18th Century Louis XVI Period Bronze Ormolu Mantel Clock with Candelabras

About the Item

A finely bronze fire-gilded ormolu mantel clock set with matching candelabras. Rich ornate with typical Louis XVI mounts, floral garlands, scrolls, ribbons and bow. The case is made of gilt brass with beveled glass all around, on white marble base. It have a pendulum movement, chimes every half hour on a silver plated bronze bell. Runs for 8-day with thread suspension of the pendulum. White enamel dial with Arabic minutes, signed by Le Faucheur. The clock is in good working order. Dimension clock: 42 (H) x 21 x 13 cm Dimension candelabra: 35 (H) x 21 x 10 cm. Probably made by Jean Jacques Le Faucheur, 1773-1789, son of Alexandre, clockmaker to the King of France Louis XVI.
