Equestrian Bronze & Marble Mantle Clock

About the Item

This early 19th century timepiece includes a patinated bronze sculpture of the thrill of the hunt, mounted upon a huge decorative marble & bronze clock case. The sculpted bronze is of a country gentleman sounding his horn while mounted on a beautifully rendered steed. A fallen stag lies beneath with hounds approaching. Within the decorated clock case below, one finds a French bell movement stamped "E. Margtin, 221, A. Paris". The hinged glass panel access to this movement is cracked & there is some damage to the bottom edge of the back panel as seen in a photo. While all the essential parts appear to be with this item, I cannot guarantee that it is keeping time. However, if desired, I can have it fixed so that it is. Sold as is. 24.25" tall X 28" wide X 9.5" deep
