Fine Georgian Longcase Clock by Collier, Eccles
About the Item
Sn4734 fine quality Georgian, mahogany, moon phase grandfather clock, having original enamelled dial signed Collier, Eccles with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, Roman and Arabic numerals and moon phase to arched top, two train 8-day movement with anchor escapement rack striking on a bell. The case having swan neck cresting with fretwork decoration and brass finials to top, all flanked by turned, reeded columns. Trunk having fretwork frieze above flamed mahogany door with fluted quarter columns above flamed base with canted, fluted corners, all standing on original, ogee bracket feet.
The movement has been cleaned and serviced by a horologist and it is guaranteed for 12 months (UK mainland). The case retains original finish which has been cleaned, revived and wax, good patina and soft and mellow color, circa 1780.
