Very Rare Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Round Chafing Dish With Cover 1119
About the Item
A very sought after and rare Georg Jensen sterling silver round chafing dish, cover, stand and burner, design #1119 by Magnus Stephensen from circa 1962. The dish has a ring mounted underneath which fits into the stand, holding the dish in place. The tall sides of the stand double as handles. The sterling silver burner is a separate piece, it sits in a bakelite base for heat insulation and is removable. The central wick holder is removable so fuel can be added. The lid of the burner is removable and doubles as snuffer.

Hallmarks: Marked underneath with vintage 1945-1977 Georg Jensen hallmarks, indicating the piece was produced between 1962-1977.
Dimensions: The dish is circa 7 7/8″ (20cm) in diameter, 8 5/8″ (21.7cm) across the handles. Height to the top of the stand 7 1/4″ (18.2cm).
Weight: Gross weight 59oz (1,675g), without the bakelite base.
