Black Lacquered Glass Dish Paved with Silver Shade Dots
About the Item
This one I don't want to find a new home for. Since this a joy to look at every day. But I would want to share this with the right person, so alas, I'll let it go.... This irregular natural shape of the substantial glass dish is beautiful. The eye travels on it like a shore line in Hawaii. Then it moves to the center which is like a solar storm at night with the pure joy of a light storm....WOW! This too, needed to be rescued and so I up-cycled it. This was going to be part of my Jet + Silver group. My Artisan who does all of my lacquer work was given the task to turn it Jet black. To do that it had to be sanded and all perfections had to be filled and sanded.After this was done a primmer was used to give it a nice smooth surface which would accept paint. After 2-3 coats of primmer it was left to dry.This process was about 2 days. Next it was given to my Artisan who specializes in Pave work. After 28 years of doing this it is mastered and it doesn't get better than this. The crystals used on this are from the leading crystal supplier in the world the top of the top. The crystal color used here is called Silver Shade. This is a smoky version of the plain Crystal color. This is a very sophisticated color. First the larger size stone is set in place creating the pattern then the Jet color is filled in making it a Pave piece. Black and crystal is a combination the is complimentary with many color schemes, it's a perennial classic. I like this in a low coffee table setting,stunning... quite the conversation piece.Or move it around in your home as your own traveling Art Exhibit.
