A Large Biomorphic Planter by Willy Guhl, Switzerland, c.1960

About the Item

A large, exceptional garden planter designed by Willy Guhl for Eternit in Switzerland circa 1960, known as a biomorphic or 'Clam Shell' planter. Resembling the architect's iconic elephant ear planters, this planter is made from fibrous cement that is delicately folded into the shape of a conch. The planter has its original garden patina of lichen and moss after spending years outside in the European weather.
