A Rare Anglo-Japanese Fire Screen designed by E W Godwin With Kissing Birds Silk
About the Item
A rare and important Anglo-Japanese walnut fire screen by Edward William Godwin with a Pagoda style top and a silk Japanese country scene to the front. To the back although worn, there are peacock designs in a circle in the same style as Godwin designed for Jeffrey and Co, including the kissing birds he also designed in a circle formation.

- Condition:Repaired: There has been a very old repair very well carried out to one foot and the silk has worn on the back in places, but due to the importance of this rare work of art I feel the age reflected slight issues with this are completely reflected in the price. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor structural damages. Minor fading.
