Georgian Period Polished Gunmetal Steel Firetools With Acanthus Handles
About the Item
A very fine set of early 19th century English Georgian fire tools, with magnificent heavy cast steel acanthus leaf handles terminating in leafy knobs. Well-proportioned turnings and decorative piercing to the shovel complete the design elements. Highly polished, gunmetal steel in color, attractive darker patina in the recesses, polished out pitting to the shovel.
