Vintage hand-crafted Japanese Indigo textile with a tiger in a bamboo forest design. The tiger was regarded as a protective creature: "His fierce greatness is kept by the mountain and the forest, he growls and yells like thunder, frightening demons and spirits. "The first autocrat granted him the title of mountain king, he carries, saving for me, a treasury of precious things ". This beautiful hand-crafted textile would be a great wall art or tapestry.
