Northern Song Dynasty Jian Kiln Gold Glaze Oil Dripping Bowls Pair
About the Item
This pair of Old collection of the Northern Song Dynasty Jian Kiln gold glaze oil dripping bowls is very rare and collectible.
Jian kilns were located in Jianyang, Fujian province, China. They produced Jian ware, which was highly esteemed for its craftsmanship and unique glazing techniques. The kilns produced a variety of vessels, including bowls, teaware, and vases.
Gold Glaze: Some Jian ware bowls were adorned with a glaze that had a metallic sheen resembling gold. This effect was achieved through the application of specific minerals during the glazing process, resulting in a lustrous and luxurious appearance.
Oil Dripping Effect: Jian ware is also known for its "oil dripping" effect, where the glaze flows and pools during firing, creating irregular patterns and variations in color and texture. This effect is highly prized by collectors and adds to the aesthetic appeal of the bowls.
