17thC Ming Chinese Jar porcelain Hand Painted Blue & White with hardwood Stand
About the Item
This is a hand painted 17th century, Ming dynasty, porcelain Jar or small Vase complete with a hand carved hardwood stand.
The Jar is fairly thickly potted with no foot rim as is mostly the case with the early wares.
The Jar is decorated, in varying shades of under-glaze blue, having a dull slaty colour with a greyish tinge.
the decoration has a floral theme with blue circles above the base and at the shoulder and neck.
The base is unglazed.
This Jar comes with a hand carved hardwood stand.
