Vintage 1950s Black Silk Velvet Multi Color Floral Print Midi Dress
About the Item
This beautiful vintage mid century dress is so much prettier than the photos are able to show. The black velvet midi dress has an intricate painted floral design in shades of teal, blue, white, and light peach. The sleeves are raglan style and the cuffs and collar are trimmed with thin black satin ribbon. The cuffs of the sleeves have small metal snap closures and there is a center metal zipper with a hook and eye closure at the collar. This dress is fully lined and has no labels or tags. We estimate this dress would best fit a modern day US size 6/8.
This dress came from our favorite estate of all time. If you are familiar with our shop, you have most likely heard us mention this dream estate often. Everything this woman owned was impeccable and she only bought the finest of the finest. So, when we go to sell her unlabeled pieces, we know that they too are exceptional. This dress is a beautiful example of the type of pieces she had. The silk velvet fabric is absolutely gorgeous and the print is done in with such a unique process. The dress is in excellent condition and has a very flattering fit.
