Lovely and summery 1970s white silk organza set from Gina Fratini consisting of a maxi skirt and short-sleeved blouse. The set also comes with a little camisole to wear under the blouse and the skirt is fully lined. The set features pretty pin tucking and frill details and can be worn together or separately. With little covered buttons to fasten at the back of the blouse this is a really pretty ensemble for any occasion. Would make a perfect bridal ensemble as all pieces are in excellent vintage condition with no faults to note. Would fit up to US size 8, UK Size 12. 1960s Contessa evening dress in a lovely cream silk, with an embroidered geometric waistband. The dress features a high neck with floor length A-line skirt. The gazar silk has a wonderful thickness and structure to it, and flows beautifully from the waist. The band is heavily embroidered with pale and cerise pink threads, outlined in gold, complete with gold and pink gemstone detail. The high, rounded neckline is both flattering and classic, with the original zip closure going all the way down the back of the dress. The House of Adair was a Parisian atelier that created beaded silk gowns for the export market during the 1920s. They were retailed in the best department stores of the day, especially in the US and UK. The designs were inspired by haute couture fashions and popular themes including orientalism and the geometric forms of the Art Deco movement. The workers has all been trained in haute couture methods and rare surviving pieces are often acquired by museums and fashion institutions including Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This dress has a sleeveless, blouson top style v-neck and is fashioned with a lightly gathered drop-waist. This fluid, tubular tailoring was typical of the must-have dresses of this era and the silk crepe is adorned with brightly beaded flowers, among them sunflowers, thistles and gerberas.
