C.1950 Brown Fox Fur Collar 'Shoulder Warmer' Stole

About the Item

The possibilities are endless with this vintage brown fox fur accessory. It can be worn as a lush collar for coats, tweed jackets or sweaters and do double duty as an elegant 'shoulder warmer' stole for evening attire. A different look can even be created by turning the collar in different directions as shown in photograph 1 and photograph 9. It has two hidden sets of hooks at each end for securing and a velveteen lining. Originally retailed at Ferriss Furs in Pensacola, Florida. Excellent vintage condition. MEASUREMENTS Basically the collar/stole is a one-size-fits-all though as a 'shoulder warmer' it might work best for a U.S. size 4 - 8. It measures 43" long from end to end x 7" at the widest point. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4.

    Located in Atlanta, GA
Late 19th Century woman's mantle cloak or Chyrpy with the artistic hallmarks of the Tekke tribe of Turkmenistan. Though the cloak appears to have sleeves, it is actually intended to drape from the head with the sleeve style tassels hanging in the back. The cloak is primarily made from pieced silk textiles with intricate stitching that creates traditional patterns including a stylized flower and geometric shapes. The hem is decorated with heavy silk fringe and the interior is lined in contrasting printed cotton fabrics. It is a beautiful piece of textile art worthy of display or drape it on the shoulders as shown in the photographs. This special piece is from the estate and private collection of Peggy Slappey, a well traveled lady who passionately collected textile art from Central Asia. Additional items from Ms. Slappey's collection are available on the Modern & Moore homepage including Ikat robes...
