Modern Black and White Cube Club Lounge Chair Metropolitan Furniture Co.
By Brian Kane, Metropolitan, Marshall Fields, Jules Heumann
Located in Topeka, KS
Handsome cube shaped club or lounge chair in black and white by Metropolitan Furniture Co. of San Francisco and made exclusively for Marshall Fields. This chair is in fabulous condition. The original oatmeal white upholstery has been professionally cleaned and the black wood frame has been completely refinished and given a new catalyzed lacquer finish. We have noticed even after cleaning some yellowing of the wool fabric, as can happen to wool, on its left side. Please see photos, circa 1960s-1980s.
This outstanding black and white club chair by Metropolitan Furniture Company of San Francisco and made exclusively for Marshall Fields is nothing short of fantastic!! Unfortunately, we had a little transport accident and the small paper tag that purported its exclusivity to Marshall Fields was lost. Fortunately, we had photographed the tag prior to transporting it. You can see it in the photos. We know that during the timeframe for creation of this chair two significant designers, Jules Heumann and Brian Kane, were designing for Metro Furniture...
