José Manuel Capuletti Furniture
José Manuel Capuletti was a self-taught Spanish painter who began his career working, mainly, drawing, watercolor and portrait. He was born on March 21, 1925, in Valladolid. A good draftsman, his work has strong influences of surrealism. Capuletti designed sets and costumes of ballet works by frequenting the atmosphere of Spanish ballets from 1946. In 1951 he settled in Paris, beginning to exhibit, becoming recognized since 1954. From 1958, his work could be seen in New York, Paris and he returned to Spain in 1968, settling first in Seville and then in Madrid. José Manuel Capuletti designed costumes for a ballet from the United States Watch Hill Studio entitled “Macumba: and premiered in May 1966. He died on a trip to Germany on September 28, 1976, in Eltville.
