Pilgrim polychrome stone figure

Circa 1575

About the Item

Pilgrim or saint Jacques figure in sculpted and polychromed limestone. He holds a calabash in his left hand. He probably held the pilgrim's staff in his missing right hand. Very beautiful face framed by a long and bifid beard. He is wearing a cap with raised edges, and dressed in a tunic as well as a dalmatic with scalloped edges.
