About the Item

The sculpture is signed below, inside Tomasz Bielak born in Lublin in 1967. He graduated of The Academy of Fine Arts, Painting and Graphics Design Department in Gdańsk, in 1994. He realized installation art, graphics press, large format murals, sculpture and painting. In all these areas, in addition to artistic workshop, the most important thing is his message of the work, the message contained therein. He believe that "art" is one of many languages (perhaps even more sophisticated than others) that humanity learned to lead the discourse at a level different than just verbal. He indentify with the principle "if you have nothing to say - be quiet (don't create!)", rejects a purely aesthetic nature of art in itself. His own personal growth and commitment to cultural and social life is understood as a UNITY. Now, after 20 years of living in Gdansk, he lives and works in a family town, Lublin.

Unique terracotta sculpture Signed by the artist The contemplative creatures of Nili Pincas, of an extreme refinement, invite silence. This isolation of the sculpted being seizes and soothes, at the same time as it questions. Are we facing the face of anguish or introspection? The white or purple flesh, with a slightly grainy matte appearance, reveals the infinite sensuality of the artist’s touch...

Kristen Newell (American, b. 1989) Tempering, 2021 Glazed stoneware Signed and dated on bottom 24 x 12 x 13.5 inches Kristen Newell was born in a small town on the coast of Massachusetts, where from a very early age, she demonstrated a strong propensity for the arts. Important additional inspiration came from her family and from the family of a childhood friend, where Kristen found herself surrounded by the work of Paul Manship, her friend’s grandfather and one of America’s greatest sculptors. With increased focus on her art, along with winning numerous awards throughout high school, Newell eagerly enrolled in the arts program at University of Vermont and augmented her studies with a valuable year at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Upon graduation, Newell moved back to Cleveland to begin her art career and started participating in group shows, including River Gallery and the Ohio State...

  • Abyssal Shrines
    By Sarah Louise Davey
    Located in Philadelphia, PA
This is an original, unique ceramic sculpture by Sarah Louise Davey on a black wooden base. The piece measures 44” x 19” x 21”. Please note: This piece is pictured with the base on top of a black pedestal and a white pedestal. The black base of the sculpture is included, but the pedestals are not included. Artist Statement: "The art of making, for me, is very much a response to the human condition of needing to connect to one another, as well as to what lies just beyond the borders of our realities. I am drawn to the idea that art can have the ability to affect those who look upon it, allowing these portraits to be conduits to a realm within our subconscious. Although my females are hard ceramic sculptures, their hollow, eggshell-like interiors feel like a glove or a mask that can easily be slipped on and off, like the psychic armor of a distant self. An introspective dialogue is started as I make each piece, invoking a surreal understanding of the physical and emotional auras of these strange beauties. Heavy in symbolism, they illustrate the psychological scope of a hybrid creature. Their wide-eyed gazes are meant to portray an emotional duality that is constantly evolving. Some are alter egos of women on the verge...
