Masai Girl - African Bronze Sculpture

2023

About the Item

My Maasai girl sculpture carries the grace of the savanna in her stride, her life an eloquent dance of tradition and the vibrant strength of her heritage. A Maasai girl, upon reaching adolescence, undergoes a traditional rite of passage known as "Enkipaata" a ceremony marking her transition into womanhood and preparing her for the responsibilities of Maasai life, reflecting the community's deep connection to their age-old customs. My art is inspired by Africa and it’s magnificent wildlife and people. Seeing tribe people’s silhouettes in the blistering summer haze enthused me to branch out into human figurative sculpture. Masai Girl Bronze Sculpture on Sandstone base, Height 59 cm including base. Sandstone base size approx 17 x 15 x 14 cm Each piece of bronze art is handcrafted by myself from beginning to end - sculpting, casting in my own foundry and finished individually by hand with it's own unique patina. Patinas may vary slightly. Editions are made on order so will be ready for shipping from South Africa approx 4 to 6 weeks after receipt of order.
