David Hostetler
David Hostetler Carved Lacewood Sculpture Beige Female Full Figure Figurative

2015

About the Item

A stunning figure carved from a single section of lacewood. Natural color finish. The base is a 2 level disk, 5"h x 10"d in black painted wood. Height includes the base. A unique sculpture. Signed along the bottom edge of the sculpture. A pared female form with the classic Hostetler sculpture hallmarks- elongated torso and neck, rounded head form with no hairdo definition, no arms and the unified form to anchor the figure. She is very uplifting with the upward gaze. Calm and elegant. This is the last wood sculpture David Hostetler carved before he died November 2015. It is currently gracing my bathroom standing by the tub in the middle of the room, she makes me smile as I step into the tub or shower......serene and elegant..... can we channel that beauty?
