Smooth-surfaced, black granite flecked almost imperceptibly with copper and white has been engineered into an elegant Mobius strip by sculptor Jeremy Guy. This sculpture is number 13 in an edition of 50 and can be purchased on a commission basis, please allow 8 - 12 weeks before shipping. Discovered by the German mathematician August Ferdinand Möbius, a Möbius strip is a surface with only one side and only one boundary. An example of a Möbius strip can be created by taking a paper strip, giving it a half-twist, and then joining the ends of the strip to form a loop. The plinth measures 39 x 14 x 14 inches. The sculpture measures 39 x 15 x 8 inches The sculpture is mounted onto a round pin connecting the sculpture to the plinth so it can be turned in situ. Plinth weight approx 200lbs.
