This poster was reprinted in 1981. The original was printed in 1935. It is one of his most famous images.
Stoecklin devoted himself to poster design. Some of his works emerged from competitions organized by the Basel-Stadt art credit . He became a well-known personality in Basel through his public works, including the mural above the notice of marriage announcements at Basel Münsterplatz (1920), and through his work as a lantern painter for the Basel Carnival . He also created some postage stamps for the Swiss Post.
In 1925 he was the only Swiss representative in Gustav Friedrich Hartlaub's exhibition Neue Sachlichkeit in the Kunsthalle Mannheim .
