About the Item

"Telegelb" is an original limited-edition seriagraph from German artist Otto Piene. It is from his series "Leuchtfarben" (fluorescent colors) from 1969. It is originally signed and numbered edition (21/100). The work shows a beautiful green flower form, typicall for Otto Piene's work, on a warm yellow background. The work comes beautifully framed to museum standard with anti-reflective glas. Certificate. Otto Piene (1928-2014) was a well-known German-American artist specailizing in kinetic and technology-based art. He was an original founding member of the ZERO group (which he founded with Heinz Mack and Günther Uecker) and is characterized by his orignal fire images, his extenisve light installlations and his inflatable sky sculptures. His efforts to dissolve artistic boundaries made Piene a visionary trailblazer for new art trends, inclding land art for exaple. Today Otto Piene is considered one of the most important artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
