"Tattoo" from the famous "Sensuality" Series by Vladimir Clavijo
Located in Palm Beach, FL
In this project, Vladimir Clavijo-Telepnev draws a line between sensuality and explicit sexuality in depicting a woman's body. Modern photography offers two main approaches to the subject: a provocative sexuality and an impassive perception of a plastic form. As a matter of fact, aggressive approaches are increasingly predominant in taking photos of a naked body. For example, paparazzi are keen to shoot women with a candid camera in bed, bathrooms, etc. Characteristically, Vladimir rejects using bright colors and deliberately limits himself in methods of expression. All the characters are shot sitting back to the viewer, and the sensual message is conveyed through fine outlines, plasticity of a woman's body and definite parts of the background. In the Film Divas project, the portraits are given in the form of a definite film symbol, while Sensuality is a sort of a poster imbued with sensuality. In his portraits Vladimir uses still life elements, which are helpful in revealing the objects: a woman's back, a child sitting next to her, flowers, a hand with a string of pearls on an opened book, a branch of winter berries against the background of home-made open-work fabric. Sensuality presents expressive and vivid images of young women. In their midst you can see a girl in a carnival mask with expensive rings...

Keith Haring Into 84 (Keith Haring Tony Shafrazi announcement card)
Located in NEW YORK, NY
Keith Haring Painted Man: Original 1983 announcement card for Keith Haring’s well-documented exhibition, Keith Haring 'Into 84' at Tony Shafrazi Gallery, New York, 1983. For this series Haring borrowed Jones' body — from head to toe — as the canvas to his work. A bodily canvas defined by much of the bold pictograms characteristic of Haring's artistic signature. Photos by Haring's long-time friend and collaborator Tseng Kwong Chi. Off-set printed, 1983. Dimensions: 6 x 4 inches. Some minor fading to the reverse; otherwise very good overall condition with strong colors. Literature: Keith Haring: Posters (Prestel pub.) Further About In 1983 Keith Haring teamed up with award-winning choreographer and dancer Bill T. Jones, founder of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. Keith and Bill met in London in 1983 at a time when the graffiti artist was opening a major show at the Robert Fraser Gallery, and together they produced a series of exceptional collaborations in both performance and drawing. Taormina - Von Gloeden n° 139 - Original Photograph by W von Gloeden - 1909
By Wilhelm Von Gloeden
Located in Roma, IT
Von Gloeden n°139 is an original photographic print on textured paper, printed in 1909 by Wilhelm von Gloeden On the lower left edge of front: " V. Gloeden Taormina 10/11 09", handwritten in brown ink. On the back: number of catalog 139 and B and D (?) letters handwritten in blue pencil with very fluid calligraphy. Always on the back printing notes and number of inventory handwritten in grey pencil with angular calligraphy: " (?) marrone" and "R-C 235 F C chassis 5 at av". The print is realized with a characteristic brown-tone croming bath and printed in the larger format from artist's catalogue. Dim: cm 38,5 x 28,5 Slightly dull tones, good conditions. Framed with modern frame 30 x 40 cm. Wilhelm Iwan Friederich August Freiherr von Gloeden (September 16, 1856 – February 16, 1931) was a German photographer who worked mainly in Italy. His innovations include the use of photographic filters and special body makeup. In the second half of the nineteenth century, Italy became the country of choice for homosexuals in northern Europe, most likely because, at the time, this country was much more liberal than other European countries. In particular, Taormina attracted numerous literaries, artists and prominent men of the high society. The Arcadian photographs of Baron Wilhelm...
