Since 2002, photographers Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre have been united by their shared passion for contemporary ruins. They capture lost ideals and faded glory by photographing the buildings that have remained behind. Modern ruins or outdated, abandoned buildings, reused for commercial purposes such as shops or markets, are meticulously recorded. Their illustrations are sometimes frightening and alienating, but always fascinating and soothing. Marchand & Meffre's photos are housed in collections such as Detroit Institute of Arts, Deutsches Filminstitut Frankfurt, Maison Européenne de la Photographie Paris, Museum de Monaco, JPMorgan Chase art collection and the Fondation Carmignac Paris. Recent orders were for Place Vendôme Paris for Comité Vendôme (2016), La Samaritaine department store for LVMH Paris (2015) and Louis Vuitton Paris Foundation (2014)
