The Fallen Icarus, a bronze statue by the sculpture Igor Mitoraj, depicting the fallen Icarus who in Greek mythology flew too close to the sun with wings made of feathers and wax. Icarus is one of the most well-known figures of Greek myth today, standing as a symbol of hubris and overconfidence. He has been portrayed in art, literature and popular culture as a lesson against overconfidence and dismissing the words of experts. Situated in front of the Temple of Concordia built circa 440-430 BC, Valley of the Temples, Agrigento, Sicily, Italy. It is the largest and best-preserved Doric Temple in Sicily and one of the best-preserved Greek temples in general. A national monument of Italy and UNESCO Heritage Site listed in 1997.
