About the Item
During 1970, working at the University of Havana, Jorge is assigned as a cartoonist in the Department of Animation and Design. This audiovisual media center had an extensive graphic library, where Jorge discovered what would later become the goals of his creativity and his artistic motivation for life. Among the publications of the IDEA magazine that he used in everyday work as a cartoonist and animator he found articles and paintings by the Hungarian-French Optical Art artist 'Victor Vasarely' (1906-1997). From this work the personal challenge and inspiration of the artist Jorge Garcia was born. With his natural talent to recognize drawing lines, the abstraction of the figure, and the tones and contrasts of light and volume, Jorge was satisfactorily accepted within the group of artist who worked in the center as animators.
In 1971 he ventured as an optical artist with the work called "Interference I" at a local contest of his municipality. Competing alongside works by renowned Cuban artists such as Nelson Dominguez, Orlando Lara and Roberto Fabelo, in the galleries of The National Museum of Fine Arts, "Interference I" was successfully exhibited for more than 5 months, as part of the "VI Juvenile Hall of Plastic Arts "and its success led to the birth of an artist, JorGar.
JorGar continued in such fashion, difficult to explain, beyond being understood, a creator of many works whose complexity can only be observed through abstraction and the vigilant game of interpretation, which conform to the pleasures of the restless space and the transformation of volume.
In 1975 he exhibited with a group of artists in the “Talía” salon of the University of Havana. That same year he won the 1st place of this exhibition with his work "Dawn". In 1976 he was entrusted by the magazine "Alma Mater" for the creation of an allegorical work of the birth of the Cuban master and patriot "José Martí”.
In 1978 that he began his studies at the "National School of Design and Applied Arts" for four years. In 1982 he graduated in Graphic Design and professionally ventures into his drawings to a stage which recognizes his first 'Circular Optical Volume' a success which by 1984 results in the creation of the work entitled "Woman." The creation of works continued to evolve in complexity of volumes and optical abstractions, values which his work "Diamante" exemplify. In 1992 he released his "Series of Optical Drawings”.
Since 1984 JorGar has created over a hundred works, series and drawings, which optically express from his interpretation the dimensions and shapes that surround us on a daily basis. They exhibit a modest and tenacious desire to present the creative, optical world of images with that of art for pleasure and enjoyment.

- On Silverlode RoadBy Jonas FischLocated in Los Angeles, CASwedish artist Jonas Fisch’s imagery is vibrantly buzzing with colorful commentary on society - past and present - morphed into figures, words, and shapes. His heavily layered canvases are the foundations of a new visual dialogue. Fisch paints with a jazz-like spontaneity, expressing personal emotions, commenting on contemporary society, and exploring old mythologies. Formulating a galaxy of the unknown, Fisch’s textural paintings flood the mind with possibility. His process is instinctive and organic, the paintings energetic and vibrant, emerging from his subconscious without judgment. They are constructed by feelings trying to find harmony. Endless figures, messages, layers, and symbols move in and out of focus as the eye explores his puzzle pieces with varied solutions. Jonas Fisch created this large colorful 93-inch tall by 67-inch wide painting with mixed media. acrylic, and oil stick on canvas. This artwork is stretched and is ready to hang. It is signed by the artist on the back of the painting. This artwork does not require framing. Free delivery is available for those in the local Los Angeles area, and affordable worldwide shipping is available for US and international art collectors. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included with the artwork, ensuring that the piece is an authentic work of art from Jonas Fisch. Born in a small fisherman's village in southern Sweden, contemporary artist Jonas Fisch discovered his love for drawing and painting at a young age and was inspired to pursue his passion by renowned artist and grandmother Ann-Marie Sjögren. Fisch reflects, “As a fundamentally introspective person, I have an explosive need to express and communicate my innermost rays, reflections, and shadows. The canvas, the brush, and the paint allow me to act out, throw up, confront, and examine those innermost feelings. Painting becomes my outlet. At a certain moment, each shape, stroke, and color suddenly takes over and the painting reveals itself. It becomes an expressive personal collaboration of art." Fisch's artworks have been exhibited across the United States, Switzerland, and Hong Kong. His paintings can be found in private collections worldwide.
