James Koskinas
James Koskinas was born in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1947. He is a painter, writer, actor and co-creator of the film, The Twilight Angel as well as a play, Even if The Mountains Burn. Currently, Koskinas lives, works, paints and writes in Santa Fe, New Mexico with his wife, Julie Schumer, also a painter. The figure is koskinas’s primary theme, part of his quest to know the human condition. He attempts to paint as automatically as possible which is intended to bring forth elements of his unconscious. He adds layers of paint until the original painting has been covered over many times, working at a rapid pace. He usually has more than one painting going at the same time. Influenced by Native American mythology, Koskinas sees the role of the artist as akin to that of a shaman, trusting his instincts and freeing the figure from the customary restraints that painting imposes. A chance meeting with a lost stallion on an Arizona highway set in motion Koskinas’s lifetime obsession with painting horses. Lately, he has added a rider to his horses. The riders have become self-portraits and a search for unity between the horse and man.

- Ethiopian GirlBy Kenneth B WalshLocated in East Hampton, NYCubist Style Mid Century Color Ethiopian Girl in pink hue Comes Unframed On Stretched Canvas About the Artist: Kenneth B Walsh (1922-1980) In the 1950s, Kenneth Bonar Walsh came to Montauk from New York City to paint seascapes, catch fish, sing of Nature's beauty, put down roots, and, later, develop a style of painting all his own. The Boston native moved to New York after attending the School of Practical Art on the G.I. Bill, where he began his career in the art department of Lever Brothers. But he had bigger dreams, and soon established the Bonart Studio, a commercial art business. RCA Records, the Ideal and Transogram toy companies, and the Schrafft’s candy and chocolate company were among the studio’s clients. The business a success, he began to take vacations. He liked Montauk so much that he built a house in Hither Hills...Category

- Spirit Horse llBy James KoskinasLocated in East Hampton, NYJames Koskinas_ Not framed. Does not need to be framed. This large scale painting of a head hints at Picasso. Both technically accomplished and classically approached, the thick gestural brushstrokes add a fragmented & tactile character to the canvas. Warm palette juxtaposed against cool gray background. This comes stretched and ready to hang. Message me for shipping quote About the artist: James Koskinas, born in Terre Haute...Category
