About the Item

Portrait of a nobleman by an unknown artist , titled "Sir" on a London label on verso. A man dressed in dark robes with a white collar looks directly at the viewer. Heavy age toning (yellowing) of varnish so the robes are difficult to see, but are rendered in a very dark green that is almost black. Canvas size: 30.25"H x 25.25"W Remainder of a label on verso (illegible) Frame size: 37"H x 32"W
